Moy Rock ist in der Nähe von Inverness ein bekanntes Sportklettergebiet. Conglomerate! Conglomerate? Nie gehört. Es soll eine Verbindung von kleinen Kieseln sein, Helm nötig. Naja – wir probieren das mal aus. Also – nachdem das Wetter noch ein kleines Fenster freigegeben hat, sind wir hin. Und ja – es war tatsächlich ein riesiger Fels bestehend aus vielen kleinen Pebbles, Murmeln. Ganz geheuer war es mir allerdings nicht, auch weil die Hakenabstände kein Traum waren. Eine Route allerdings lang nur. Dann hat es zum Glück geregnet und wir konnten leider nur noch Toprope klettern. Die womöglich losen Kiesel haben mich nicht soooo begeistern können, auch wenn sie unendlich viele Möglichkeiten zum Greifen und Stehen geben – wenn sie denn halten.

Conglomerate! Congolmerate? Well, the guy at the climbing wall said, we should bring the helmets. Moy Rock seems to be the most important sportsclimbing place in close surroundings of Inverness, so we went. The weather was nearly alright, but due to the strange combination of pebble and some kind of natural concrete, the rock was really dry. But then: Hold onto a pebble and hope, that it stays, where it is. I was quite relieved to find, that after the first lead the rain picked up a bit and we could only do one more route top roping. The terrain just didn’t inspire confidence after all. A pity, because all these little pebbles really provide a huge amount of hand- and footholds. Still: If only I knew, they would hold…. It was more an experience than fun.
